   <abstract xml:lang="ru">
    <p>Социальные медиа как инструменты обмена информацией и идеями стали неотъемлемой частью повседневной деятельности многих преподавателей. Цель – изучить влияние социальных медиа на протекание когнитивных процессов и проявления эмоциональных состояний преподавателей вуза. Основное внимание уделено анализу изменений в концентрации внимания, объеме запоминаемой информации и эмоциональном состоянии преподавателей. Используя тестовые методики (тесты на концентрацию внимания Дж. Р. Струпа, на мигание внимания J. E. Raymond, K. L. Shapiro и K. M. Arnell, на объем оперативной памяти Д. Векслера, на оценку эмоционального состояния по методике PANAS в адаптации Е. Н. Осина) и метод эксперимента, получены данные, свидетельствующие о том, что длительное взаимодействие с социальными медиа оказывает влияние на уровень концентрации внимания преподавателей, на объем оперативной памяти и на эмоциональное состояние участников эксперимента. В результате отмечено, что преподаватели, использующие социальные медиа, демонстрировали снижение уровня концентрации внимания по сравнению со своим состоянием до осуществления экспериментального воздействия. Это проявлялось в увеличении времени реакции на стимульное воздействие и в снижении способности к длительной фокусировке внимания на выполняемых задачах. Преподаватели испытывали трудности с запоминанием информации: они лучше запоминали оперативную информацию, но испытывали трудности с ее воспроизведением в заданных параметрах. Также педагоги отмечали наличие признаков негативного влияния использования социальных медиа на эмоциональное состояние. В итоге результаты исследования могут быть использованы для расширения предметного поля в обозначенной области с целью нахождения путей оптимизации использования социальных медиа преподавателями для повышения их профессиональной эффективности.</p>

    <p>Social media provide tools for sharing information and ideas. Various social nets have become daily routine for many teachers. The article describes the effect of social media on the cognitive processes and emotional manifestations in university academic personnel, i.e., attention span, memory capacity, and emotional status. The attention span and memory tests included those developed by J. R. Stroop, J. E. Raymond, K. L. Shapiro, and K. M. Arnell. The emotion tests included the PANAS method as adapted by E. N. Osin. A long-term interaction with social media affected the attention span, short-term memory, and emotional state of the participants. Those subjected to social media demonstrated a shorter attention-span compared to their own results before the exposure: they had a longer reaction time and could not concentrate on the tasks. The participants also experienced problems with remembering information: they had quite good short-term memory but failed to reproduce the information as required. They also reported an adverse effect of social media on their emotional state. The research prospects may include ways to optimize the use of social media by academics to increase their professional effectiveness.</p>
